Special Issue: Social Theories of Muslim Thinkers (Autumn 2026)

The Journal of “Social Theories of Muslim Thinkers,” affiliated with the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Tehran, is pleased to announce a special English-language issue scheduled for publication in Autumn 2026. The objective of this issue is to expand theoretical inquiries into social thought within the Islamic intellectual tradition and to introduce the theoretical capacities of Muslim thinkers in analyzing social issues at an international level.

This special issue seeks to foster a scientific dialogue between the intellectual heritage of Muslim thinkers and contemporary social science theories. We invite scholars, researchers, and postgraduate students to submit their original, research-based articles that offer a clear theoretical framework and rigorous academic analysis.

Articles may address the analysis and explanation of Muslim thinkers’ perspectives across various historical periods, examine concepts and theoretical frameworks in Islamic social thought, provide a critical rereading of this intellectual heritage, or engage in comparative studies between Muslim thinkers and classical/contemporary social theories. Priority will be given to papers that contribute to the development of social theories within the context of Islamic thought or theoretical dialogues between the Islamic tradition and contemporary social sciences.
