Authors Guide

Social Theories of Muslim Thinkers

  1. Types of Submissions

The journal accepts only Research Articles.

  1. Submission Process

Authors must submit their manuscripts exclusively through the journal’s online submission system and manage all correspondence through their personal account on the system. Submissions sent via email or communicated by phone to any individual or organization will not be considered. The editorial office bears no responsibility for manuscripts submitted outside the official system.

  1. Similarity Check

Authors may use the Samim-Noor plagiarism detection system to check their manuscripts. A PDF similarity report generated directly from the system must be submitted along with the manuscript.

  1. Required Forms

At the time of submission, authors must upload the following documents in addition to the manuscript file:

  • Conflict of Interest Form
  • Ethical Commitment Form

The review process will proceed only after these forms have been completed and submitted.

  1. ORCID

In accordance with the Ministry’s requirements for scholarly journals, authors must provide an ORCID identifier. The ORCID field should be completed for all authors, or at minimum for the corresponding author, during submission.

  1. Publication Ethics

The journal adheres to the ethical standards of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and follows the Executive Regulations of the Law on Prevention and Combating Fraud in Scientific Works of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

  1. Review Timeline
  • Average time for initial screening: less than 4 days
  • Average peer‑review process: at least 4 weeks until the review decision is announced
  1. Acknowledgment of Funding

Acknowledgment of any research sponsor or funding provider must be included in the article where applicable.

  1. Author Information

During registration in the submission system, the ORCID identifier of each author must be entered in the author information section.

  1. Articles Derived from Theses or Research Projects

If the article is derived from a research project or an academic thesis/dissertation (Master’s or PhD), this must be indicated beneath the article title.

According to Article 40 of the Research Misconduct Investigation Guidelines, the order of authors should be as follows:

  1. The thesis/dissertation author
  2. The supervisor(s)
  3. The advisor(s)

For articles derived from research projects, the project principal investigator must be registered as the corresponding author. For articles derived from theses or dissertations, the supervisor must be listed as the corresponding author.

All submissions must represent the original work of the author(s) and must not have been previously published or submitted elsewhere.

Section Descriptions

Title

The title should be concise and clearly reflect the main theme or message of the article.

Abstract

The abstract should include the research problem, research method, data collection tools, analytical techniques, major findings, and keywords. The English abstract should appear first, followed by the Persian abstract.

Introduction and Problem Statement

The research problem should be clearly defined under the section titled “Introduction and Problem Statement.” These two sections may also be presented separately if necessary.

Research Objectives and Questions

The objectives and research questions must directly correspond to the research problem.

Literature Review

This section should review relevant previous studies and clarify how the present research differs from or contributes beyond existing works.

Theoretical Considerations

Each study must include one of the following:

  • Theoretical framework
  • Analytical framework
  • Conceptual framework (definitions of key concepts)

The selection depends on the nature and scope of the article.

Research Methodology

Authors must explain the methodological approach used in the study (qualitative or quantitative), including its specific type and level. The methodology section should also clarify the stages of the research process and explain how the research questions are addressed.

Research Findings

Findings, along with their analysis and interpretation, should be presented systematically in a separate section. The findings should directly respond to the research questions posed in the article.

Discussion and Conclusion

The discussion and conclusion should be presented at the end of the article and must be based on the findings and the theoretical framework.

References

References in Persian and English should be listed separately and arranged alphabetically within each section.
